Our experienced and knowledgeable local guides enjoy showing our guests the amazing Northern Lights in Iceland.

You will be picked up by your guide from your accommodation (or its closest bus stop if located downtown) within the Reykjavik Capital Area. Your guide will head out of the city away from any light pollution for the best visibility of the evening. When there, you will be served homemade hot chocolate made from real Icelandic chocolate while enjoying the beauty of the Northern lights. Not Kosher.

The probability of seeing the Northern lights can vary and their visibility is dependent on cloud coverage and other weather factors. We always try our best to only go out if the same-day forecast predicts good visibility.

Since forecasts are never a 100% guarantee and only a prediction, it can happen the Northern lights will not show. If so, you can always have a free re-run (pending availability) if you let us know and we'll then rebook you.

What type of camera to we use?

We use Sony Alpha7 III and lens is 14mm 1.8F Sony G. This is the best Northern Lights lens on the market and Sony A7III is one of the best cameras you can use for Northern Lights photographing.

What happens if you do not see the Northern Lights?

You can join for free as many times as you need until you see the Northern Lights!

How long is the tour?

Between 3 and 5 hours.

Pick-up starts 30 minute(s) before departure.

  • Pickup hours between 20th of August and 15th of September are between 21:30 and 22:00.

  • Pickup hours between 16th of September and 31st of March are between 20:30 and 21:00.

  • Pickup hours between 1st of April and 24th of April are between 21:30 and 22:00.

What do I need to bring?

  • Dress according to weather, wear warm and waterproof clothing in layer, bring gloves and a hat

  • Wear suitable footwear, preferably waterproof with a good grip.

He expertly navigated us to the perfect spot, through rain showers and a geomagnetic storm that drove the northern lights south. But Daniel's knowledge gave us the experience of a lifetime.

  • Totally worth it! We went out on a night where a lot of other people on different tours did not see the lights, but we did. We heard disappointed stories the next day, and realized just how lucky we were. Extremely professional tour company with great staff who know what they're doing. Hot chocolate, cinnamon rolls, and the high quality pictures make it worth it. Our guide was able to take pics of the lights with us in it that we wouldn't have been able to capture otherwise.

  • We had a great Northern Lights tour. Our guide Palli was excellent and really knew his stuff. We got to a great site early and watched the Northern lights dance across the sky for over 30 minutes followed by a lively hot chocolate and bun. He took some ace photos that we could down load. After we had finished we could see lots of other tours still looking for the lights whilst we had an exclusive view. Ace and thank you.
