Self Drive Itinerary Planning

Your Iceland Trip Personally

Curated for You.

Not a generic package. Not an AI itinerary. A day-by-day plan built around your trip by someone who's driven every road in Iceland.

THE PROBLEM WITH PLANNING ICELAND YOURSELF

You'll spend 40+ hours researching, and still wonder if you got it right.

Iceland looks simple on a map. But real driving times, weather windows, daylight hours, road closures, and seasonal availability make it deceptively complex. Most travellers either over-pack their days and spend the trip rushing, or miss the best experiences because they didn't know they existed.

MEET YOUR CURATOR

Hi, I’m Mordy.

In December of 2019, a weather disruption in London rerouted me to Iceland by accident. I was supposed to be there for a night. Instead, I fell in love with the country, and when COVID disrupted the corporate travel business I had run for a decade, I spent months on the ground in Iceland, building connections and learning every road, valley, and hidden hot spring.

I've since planned over 2,000 self-drive trips for travellers from all over the world. I split my time between New York and Iceland, spending around four months a year on the ground here, and I specialise exclusively in Iceland. It's all I do.

I know which roads are gravel nightmares in a sedan, which restaurants are worth a 20-minute detour, and which "must-see" attractions are actually skippable. I'll build your trip the way I'd build it for a close friend.

HOW IT WORKS

From first call to final day, here's the process.

1. Discovery Call

We get on a call and I learn everything: your travel style, interests, pace, budget, who's coming, and what matters most to you.

2. Itinerary Design

I build a day-by-day plan: routes, timings, hidden stops, accomodations, excursions. Every detail is specific to your trip dates and preferences.

3. Bookings & Refinement

I book your hotels, car, and activities, all costs are itemised, no markups. We refine the plan together until it's exactly right.

4. Travel With Support

You get a mobile app with your full itinerary, navigation, and vouchers, plus real-time chat with me if anything changes on the road.

THE DIFFERENCE EXPERTISE MAKES

What most people plan vs. what I’d plan instead.

Same 4 days. Same south coast route. Totally different experience.

Typical Self-Planned Trip

Day 1: Reykjavik

"Walk around, check out Hallgrímskirkja"

Day 2: Golden Circle

"Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, the usual loop"

Day 3: South Coast

"Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Vík, hope we can fit in an excursion"

Day 4: Glacier Lagoon

"Drive to Jökulsárlón and back, 10 hours of driving"

Rushed. Generic. The same itinerary as every other tourist.

Planned by Mordy

Day 1: Reykjavik + Sky Lagoon

Timed walk through the old harbor at golden hour, dinner at spots tourists don't know about, relaxing evening at Sky Lagoon with fewer crowds.

Day 2: Golden Circle + Snorkeling

Þingvellir with snorkeling between tectonic plates. Brúarfoss added as a detour most people miss. Geysir and Gullfoss sequenced so you're not backtracking, with enough time at each to actually enjoy them. A unique spot for lunch.

Day 3: South Coast + Ice Cave

Seljalandsfoss from the rear. A secret waterfall inside a mountain. An ice cave on top of a volcano. Overnight near Vík so Day 4 isn't a marathon.

Day 4: Glacier Lagoon + Zodiac

Short morning drive. Zodiac boat tour on the lagoon. Diamond Beach — the right side. Home via a route with three stops nobody talks about.

Same 4 days. Completely different trip.
